His Excellency, Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Cambodia’s Minister of Environment, actively engaged in the Thematic Forum on Maritime Cooperation during the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

Beijing, October 18, 2023 – His Excellency, Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Cambodia’s Minister of Environment, actively engaged in the Thematic Forum on Maritime Cooperation during the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The forum centered on “Promoting Blue Sea Cooperation along the Silk Road” and attracted distinguished participants from around the globe.​

Minister Eang Sophalleth, representing Cambodia, spoke at the forum and emphasized the importance of environmental preservation, with a particular focus on the conservation of marine ecosystems. He also puts emphasis the critical significance of the blue economy in advancing global sustainable development.

The forum gathered a notable assembly, including Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and Deputy Ministers from a multitude of nations. Representatives from governments, leading scientific research institutions, prestigious universities, and well-established enterprises from enterprises originating from Belt and Road partner nations rounded out the assembly, resulting in an approximate total of 200 participants

It’s worth noting that China played host to the third Belt and Road Forum on International Cooperation in Beijing from October 17 to 18, 2023. This gathering not only offered a platform for meaningful discussions, but also showcased the global commitment to advancing international cooperation and nurturing sustainable development across diverse domains.
